Johnston, IA – Three Rivers FS customers in Elkader can do good and save green with E15 on Thursday, October 12.
The fuel station is offering a 5-cent discount on every gallon of E15 sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., along with a free lunch to participating customers.
Three Rivers FS (24544 Highway 13) is one of over 30 Iowa retail stations participating in the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association’s (IRFA) Pink at the Pump™ campaign.
Pink at the Pump™ is a partnership between IRFA, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, National Breast Cancer Foundation, The Hormel Institute, and select Iowa retailers.
It is a campaign to raise money for breast cancer research and support services and increase consumer awareness of the benefits of E15.
At participating retail stations, three cents of every gallon of E15 sold during the month of October will be donated to The Hormel Institute and National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“E15 is an exciting new fuel,” said IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton.
“A lot of consumers may not realize when they pull up to that gas pump that they have a new choice that will reduce the amount of cancer-causing pollutants in the air.
That’s what promotions like this are all about – helping customers understand that E15 is the cleanest, lowest-cost fuel option for all 2001 and newer vehicles.”
E15 is a fuel blend containing 15 percent ethanol, just five percent more ethanol than the most commonly used fuel in the U.S., E10. E15 is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles.
It is also higher in octane, which improves vehicle performance. Find fuel stations offering E15 near you by clicking here.
