Johnston, IA – Three Iowa Ampride stations are celebrating the 2nd annual Pink at the Pump™ campaign with a 15-cent per gallon discount on all E15 sales October 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ampride stations participating in the promotion include:
Ampride – Humboldt
1301 10th Ave. North
Ampride – Fort Dodge
3243 5th Ave. South
Ampride – Eagle Grove
These are just three of over 30 Iowa retail stations participating in the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association’s (IRFA) Pink at the Pump™ campaign.
Pink at the Pump™ is a partnership between IRFA, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, National Breast Cancer Foundation, The Hormel Institute, and select Iowa retailers to raise money for breast cancer research and support services and increase consumer awareness of the benefits of E15.
At participating retail stations, three cents of every gallon of E15 sold during the month of October will be donated to The Hormel Institute and National Breast Cancer Foundation.
IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton said Pink at the Pump™ is designed to help motorists understand there is a cleaner fuel choice out there.
“We are proud to partner with stations like Ampride to celebrate the cleanest, lowest-cost fuel available for all 2001 and newer vehicles,” Norton said.
“E15 reduces emissions of cancer-causing chemicals and greenhouse gases. As the newest fuel on the market, promotions like this help raise awareness of these benefits and more.”
E15 is a fuel blend containing 15 percent ethanol, just five percent more ethanol than the most commonly used fuel in the U.S., E10.
E15 is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles. It is also higher in octane, which improves vehicle performance.
