Johnston, IA – Motorists in Clarence can help save lives and save a little green with E15 on October 16.
As part of its participation in the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association’s (IRFA) 2nd annual Pink at the Pump™ campaign, Sundstop in Clarence (902 Lombard St.) is offering a 10-cent discount on every gallon of E15 sold from 4 to 6 p.m.
Pink at the Pump™ is a partnership between IRFA, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, National Breast Cancer Foundation, The Hormel Institute, and select Iowa retailers.
It is a campaign to raise money for breast cancer research and support services and increase consumer awareness of the benefits of E15.
At participating retail stations, three cents of every gallon of E15 sold during the month of October will be donated to The Hormel Institute and National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“As a retailer in a heavy corn-producing state, we see renewable fuels as a way to give back to the community for supporting our business,” said Joshua Sundstrom, Sundstop owner.
IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton said Pink at the Pump™ is designed to help motorists understand there is a cleaner fuel choice out there
“We are proud to partner with stations like Sundstop to celebrate the cleanest, lowest-cost fuel available for all 2001 and newer vehicles,” Norton said.
“E15 reduces emissions of cancer-causing chemicals and greenhouse gases.
As the newest fuel on the market, events like this help raise awareness of these benefits and more.”
E15 is a fuel blend containing 15 percent ethanol, just five percent more ethanol than the most commonly used fuel in the U.S., E10.
E15 is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles. It is also higher in octane, which improves vehicle performance.
