Two More Iowa Casey’s Stations Add E15

Johnston, IA – Starting today, drivers in Grinnell and Cedar Falls can stop by their local Casey’s General Store to fill up with cleaner-burning, higher-octane E15.

A total of five Casey’s stations across Iowa now offer E15.

The chain intends to add the fuel as an option to three more Iowa locations over the winter as part of a plan to add E15 to 17 stations across Iowa, Illinois, and Kansas.

“It’s encouraging to see Casey’s expanding availability for this cleaner, higher-octane fuel that also gives back to the local economy,” said Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Managing Director Lucy Norton

“Blended with ethanol produced right here in Iowa, E15 reduces pollutants and cancer-causing chemicals in the air, has an 88-octane rating – which enhances vehicle performance – and is typically priced five to 10 cents less than 87-octane E10.

With all these benefits, we fully expect demand for E15 to only increase among Casey’s customers.”

E15 is a fuel made of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent petroleum and is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles.

The fuel is now available at 146 stations across the state.
