Des Moines, IA - In an op-ed this week in the Des Moines Register, Gov. Martin O’Malley, reaffirmed his support for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) saying, “We must also protect strong incentives like the Renewable Fuel Standard, which drive investments in clean energy and keep renewable fuels competitive.”

Today, he followed up with a tour of Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy ethanol facility in Council Bluffs, IA.

“Gov. O’Malley has demonstrated that he gets how crucial the RFS is to a clean energy future, American jobs, and rural communities,” said former Lt. Gov. and America's Renewable Future Co-Chair, Patty Judge, “The RFS is helping rural communities that suffered the most during the recession make a strong comeback.

"Iowans will stand up for candidate who stand up for them by supporting the RFS.”

“The government made a promise to investors, farmers, and American consumers with the RFS.

"We thank Gov. O’Malley for his commitment to fulfill that promise,” added Judge.

“We invite the rest of the presidential candidates to tour a renewable fuel facility and find out more about how the RFS benefits all Americans.”
