America's Renewable Future Commends SC Sen. Graham For RFS Support

Date Posted: April 28, 2015

Des Moines, IA — Sen. Graham along with Iowa’s Sens. Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley was one of 37 senators to sign a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy urging the agency to maintain a strong RFS.

The letter was lead by a bipartisan group including Sens. Grassley R-IA, Amy Klobuchar D-MN, Dick Durbin D-IL, John Thune R-SD, Al Franken D-MN, and Mark Kirk R-IL.

“Sen. Graham’s support for keeping a robust Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) shows a commitment to granting market access for a cleaner, renewable, domestic source of fuel,” said former State Rep. and America’s Renewable Future co-chair, Annette Sweeney.

“He understands the value of ethanol, competition in our motor fuel market, and consumer choice.

"We are glad to have Sen. Graham’s support and invite him to visit an ethanol plant on an upcoming trip to our state.”

Ensuring market access through the RFS is a crucial policy across America.

America's Renewable Future has invited every major presidential candidate to sit down with its co-chairs and visit a biofuels plant to learn more about how ethanol and the RFS are fueling lower gas prices, over 852,000 American jobs, and a more secure America.
