Robert Jornlin, captain of the World War II floating memorial, LST 325, will head a journey up the Mississippi River in August and September. Highlights from podcast: How much fuel does the LST 325 use? "We use seven gallons to the mile plus 200 gallons a day in port. We will be gone 33 days total, 21 days in port." On using biodiesel in World War II engines. "We think they run better. The filters stayed cleaner and there was absolutely no difference. Biodiesel's the way to go, I think. Engines run just as good or better." Why Biodiesel? "We should be using a lot more biofuels and lowering our dependence on foreign fuels. Our nation's demand for fuel has increased a great amount."
