Date Posted: August 30, 2011
Brookfield, MO—LLL Transport announced August 25 that it had reached an agreement to sell the company to an ownership group led by Gary Waller and Joshua Wheeler, two transportation industry veterans.
“My family and I are very proud of LLL Transport and what we have built over the past 25 years,” said company founder Jeff Littrell.
“The company’s success has been possible because of the dedication of our employees who represent the very best in the industry.
"After careful consideration, we made the decision to sell LLL Transport as part of a transaction that closed yesterday.
"I have come to know and respect Gary Waller and Joshua Wheeler over the past few years.
"They know the transportation and biofuels industries, and I am confident they will continue the legacy of LLL Transport.”
Although company ownership has changed hands, the Littrell family will remain visible and involved.
Jeff Littrell and sons Jason and Daniel will remain with the company in leadership roles, as will Greg Davis, Operations Manager.
The company has no plans for workforce reductions among its 130 employees.
The company’s new ownership group is privately funded and is built around a leadership team with an impressive depth of transportation and biofuel industry experience.
Gary Waller, incoming CEO, has 30 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur in the transportation industry.
He has held transportation leadership positions with HeadHaul.com, PlyGem Industries, American Trade Products, ProFleet Transportation, and several other industry leaders.
“We will continue to provide the best-in-industry biofuel transportation that customers have come to expect from LLL Transport,” said Waller.
“We admire the Littrell family’s commitment to safety and reliable transport, and we are committed to maintaining that legacy.
"We will strive to ensure that LLL remains a company for which employees are proud to work.”
Incoming CFO Josh Wheeler is currently serving as the managing partner of HeadHaul.com.
He was previously the Vice President/Controller/Agency Manager for ProFleet Transportation, and held various finance roles for several trucking and logistics companies.
“This transaction brings a combination of capital investment and visionary leadership that will position LLL Transport for significant future growth,” said Wheeler.
“We see opportunities to expand our business within the company’s current footprint by adding equipment, infrastructure, and employees.
"We also will actively pursue opportunities to expand the geographic reach of our relationships with current clients.
"We believe LLL is well positioned to grow along with the conventional and alternative biofuel industries.”
