Clear The Air Chicago Releases Video Featuring Economic Benefits of E15 (Video)Date Posted: May 1, 2015 Chicago — Clear the Air Chicago, a coalition advocating to make E15 available citywide, today released a video featuring testimonials from small fuel retail business owners who have seen the benefits firsthand. E15 is a blend of 85% gasoline and up to 15% renewable fuel, or ethanol. These retailers credit E15 with boosting business, improving customer satisfaction, and providing reliable service. Ethanol is good for the environment – reducing carbon emissions significantly – and saves drivers 5 to 15 cents on the gallon. “It’s been a windfall for us,” said Roger Green, Station Owner from South St. Paul, Minnesota. “It’s been a huge increase in our inside store sales and our volume sales.” The City of Chicago is currently considering a proposal that will bring E15 to Chicago gas stations. This would ensure that drivers have the option of a cleaner fuel alternative at the pump — making cleaner, safer E15 available to all.
