Detroit's Next Energy to Celebrate National Transporation Week with 10 MMGY Biodiesel Plant Groundbreaking

Assisted by Detroit-based NextEnergy, California-based Biodiesel Industries, Inc. will break ground on Detroit's first biodiesel production plant May 15.

The facility will produce 10 million gallons of biodiesel fuel annually from multiple feedstocks including vegetable oil.

This is an official event of National Transportation Week (May 13-19 in Detroit), which is hosted by the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.

National Transportation Week (NYW) was established in 1962 by President Kennedy and celebrates the historical significance of transportation in the United States and focuses on its future impact.

Michigan's alternative energy accelerator, NextEnergy, is a non-profit founded to enable the commercialization of energy technologies that positively contribute to the nation's economic competitiveness, energy security and the environment.
