St. Helena, Napa CA—ETS Laboratories announces the exclusive licensing of DxS Scorpions™ technology to test for contaminant microorganisms that reduce yields in biofuel fermentations.

ETS has had the exclusive license to use this technology in the wine industry since 2005 and has developed numerous methods to provide early detection and identification of contaminating microorganisms during wine fermentation and aging.

With this additional license ETS will provide the biofuel industry with improved abilities for early detection of contaminant microbes, enabling targeted intervention and reduction in fermentation losses due to microbial contamination.

While DxS' real-time PCR Scorpions™ technology can be utilized in a wide range of genetic diagnostic applications, it can be used for a variety of other purposes including environmental analysis, food testing and biothreat detection, due to its high sensitivity and fast reaction times.
