Gulf Ethanol Engages Microbac Laboratories to Test Preprocessed Feedstock Powders for Effectiveness in Cellulosic Ethanol Production

Date Posted: August 27, 2008

Houston, TX—Gulf Ethanol Corporation (PINKSHEETS: GFET) announced August 27 that it has engaged Microbac Laboratories to perform analytical testing on its preprocessed feedstock powders.

Microbac has over fifteen years' experience in analyzing a wide range of biomass products.

They work directly with national Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) and various private entities to characterize and analyze biomass materials.

Initial product samples will be provided to the lab this week.

"In order to establish the credibility of our cellulosic pre-processing technology, we want to engage a nationally recognized laboratory to confirm the performance characteristics of our products," explained Bill Carmichael, GFET's CEO.

"Our clients as well as our investors will want to see scientific proof of the efficiencies created by this process.

"We expect this processing technique to be a standard component of all cellulosic ethanol production in the future because of the increased yield and processing efficiencies we believe it will produce," he concluded.
