Midland Manufacturing Hosts Open House at New Valve Remanufacturing Facility in Skokie, IL

Date Posted: May. 02, 2008

Skokie, IL—Midland Manufacturing, a manufacturer of railroad tank car safety valves and equipment, and a division of OPW Fluid Transfer Group, unveiled its new Valve Remanufacturing Facility with an Open House on May 1, 2008 at the company’s headquarters in Skokie, IL.

The new Valve Remanufacturing Facility features 3,000 square feet of space that is dedicated to Midland's remanufacturing activities.

The workspace, which has been designed for lean manufacturing processes, will be managed by a team of nine valve-remanufacturing experts that will bring more than 50 years of production and engineering experience to the Valve Remanufacturing Program.

Midland created its Valve Remanufacturing Program as a way to give its customers the ability to re-qualify their Midland rail tank car valves currently in service and have them restored to like-new condition, all while cost-effectively providing the data needed to manage planned maintenance intervals.

To meet these ambitious goals, Midland has:

• Invested in new state-of-the-art equipment for the remanufacturing process.

• Developed the ability to tailor specific remanufacturing programs to meet the unique needs of the customer.

• Streamlined the performance-reporting process in order to provide findings and suggested practices to customers more efficiently.

• Made a commitment to quick turnaround of remanufactured valves, all of which come with a new one-year warranty.
