Missouri Governor to Keynote 19th Annual ACE Ethanol Conference in Kansas CityDate Posted: June 28, 2006 Sioux Falls, SD--The American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE), a grassroots trade association for the U.S. ethanol industry, is proud to announce that Missouri Governor Matt Blunt will provide a keynote address at the organization's 19th annual ACE Ethanol Conference & Trade Show. The event will be held on August 8-10 in Kansas City, Missouri at the Crown Center. Governor Blunt will address the conference on Wednesday afternoon, August 9, during the opening of the general session. Registration for the conference has opened online through ACE's website, "We look forward to hearing his perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing ethanol today, as well as his vision for ethanol's future." Governor Blunt has placed a high priority on ethanol during his time in office, and the state of Missouri is growing a thriving ethanol industry. Three ethanol plants are operating today, and another is under construction. The state has an ethanol production incentive, and the legislature has recently passed a strong Missouri Renewable Fuels Standard that includes a 10 percent ethanol requirement. "With record high oil prices and gasoline refining capacity stretched to the limit, there's no better time than the present to be focusing on energy alternatives. Ethanol is at the forefront of bring America closer to energy independence, and we look forward to bringing more than 1,000 ethanol supporters together in Kansas City to discuss the best in public policy, new technologies, and grassroots support for this homegrown fuel," Jennings added. Topics of interest to be discussed at the conference include: grassroots efforts for ethanol at the state level, petroleum marketing basics, cellulosic ethanol, distillers grain, and many more. Of special note is the "Ethanol 101: From Ground Breaking to Profit Making" workshop to be held on Tuesday, August 8. This session is a must-see for anyone involved with the development of an ethanol plant project.
