Renewable Fuels Association Weekly Ethanol Production Report: 9/23/16

According to EIA data analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 989,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 41.54 million gallons daily.

That is up 8,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 993,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 15.22 billion gallons.

Stocks of ethanol stood at 20.6 million barrels. That is a 2.8% increase from last week.

Imports of ethanol were nonexistent for the fifth straight week.

Gasoline demand for the week averaged 373.0 million gallons (8.880 million barrels) daily, a 34-week low.

Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 907,000 b/d, lowest since the week ended 6/3/2016.

Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 11.14%.

This is the highest rate since the week ended 1/8/2016 and just the third time all year the rate has exceeded 11%.
