Date Posted: November 29, 2000

LAFAYETTE, INDIANA (November, 2000) -- Indiana Design Consortium, Inc. (IDC) President Robert Kennedy has announced that Richard Hines, the firm's vice president of account services, will acquire additional company stock and assume increased responsibility for the operation of the business.

According to Kennedy, Hines joined Indiana Design Consortium in 1984 and became a shareholder in 1993. "During the past 16 years, Richard has been very instrumental in helping to ensure successful marketing and communications programs for our clients. It's my pleasure to announce that he has become a principal owner in the business."

Kennedy also noted that IDC continues to grow and prosper as it meets the changing needs of new and existing clients. New IDC accounts include Spectrum Technologies, an international marketer of measurement devices; Nemco, a manufacturer of professional foodservice equipment; and several other new clients, including a major component manufacturer that serves the worldwide automotive industry.

"In addition," Kennedy said, "we are also announcing the appointment of a new member of the IDC staff. Laura Price has been named controller and business manager. Laura comes to IDC from KN Integer of Des Moines, Iowa, where she was assistant controller." KN Integer employs approximately 150 advertising and marketing professionals and provides marketing services to clients such as McDonald's, Pella Windows and Maytag. "Laura's experience in business management for KN Integer will bring new growth in the services we provide and many other benefits for IDC clients," Kennedy said.

Price will assume many of the responsibilities of Kendall Smith II, who will retire on January 2, 2001, after 29 years of service. Smith has been vice president-secretary and one of the principal owners of the firm. While Smith will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operation of IDC, he will remain an advisor to IDC and its clients.

Founded in 1972 by Kennedy, IDC specializes in meeting the marketing needs of industrial, commercial, institutional and agricultural clients throughout the United States. Services include market research, strategic marketing planning, advertising, design, merchandising, sales promotion, direct-response and video production. IDC also provides electronic marketing services such as multimedia presentations and the design and maintenance of clients' websites.
