DuPont’s Industrial Biosciences unit, which recently opened its cellulosic ethanol plant in Nevada, IA, will become part of the specialty products company formed by the merger of DuPont and Dow Chemical Co.
In a press release issued Friday, Dec. 11, DuPont said the combined company will be named DowDuPont.
“The parties intend to subsequently pursue a separation of DowDuPont into three independent, publicly-traded companies through tax-free spin-offs,” according to the release.
The other two entities formed by the merger will be an agriculture company and a material science company.
