IA Ethanol Prices Continue Upward Trend

Des Moines, IA - The price of wholesale ethanol rose $.10 this week, currently priced at $1.44 per gallon.

Crude Oil Summary

The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.45 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $45.43.

Brent crude oil rose $.71, and is currently priced at $47.90.

One year ago WTI crude sold for $46.05 and Brent crude was at $46.42.

Motor Fuels

As of Tuesday, September 6th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.23 across Iowa according to AAA.

This is $.04 lower than one week ago and $.22 lower than one year ago.

The national average on Tuesday was $2.19, which is $.03 lower than last week’s price.

Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa held steady with a statewide average of $2.38.

One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.48 in Iowa.

The current Iowa diesel average is $.02 higher than the national average of $2.38.

Wholesale ethanol prices were $.10 higher this week, closing at $1.44.

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.36 for U87-E10, $1.66 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.52, ULSD#1 is at $1.69, and E-70 is priced at $1.58 per gallon.

Heating Fuels

Natural Gas prices fell $.10 at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $2.82 / MMbtu.
