Retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Len Hering to Discuss Biodiesel and Sustainability at 2015 Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit

Johnston, IA — The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today announced retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Len Hering will address biodiesel and sustainability at the 9th Annual Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit and Trade Show on January 27, 2015 at Prairie Meadows.

“Summit attendees will learn a great deal about biodiesel, renewable energy and sustainability from retired Rear Admiral Len Hering,” stated IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw.

“Mr. Hering is a distinguished leader on renewable energy and sustainability issues, and I know he’ll fit right in with a great line-up of speakers for the 2015 Summit.”

Hering retired from the U.S. Navy in 2009 after 32 years of service, in which he was considered a top expert in base operations and facility support with an emphasis on sustainability and the environment.

In 2005, President George W. Bush awarded Hering with the Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management.

Hering currently serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Sustainable Energy.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit and Trade Show is free and open to the public.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry.
