Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit to Feature Forecast on Biofuels Policy Under Trump Administration

Date Posted: January 10, 2017

Johnston, IA - During the campaign, President-elect Donald Trump expressed unwavering support for renewable fuels.

Less than two weeks into his new administration, biofuels and policy experts will gather at the 2017 Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit to discuss the impact his administration and the newly-elected Congress will have on biofuels policies and regulations.

The “New Administration, New Congress, New Attitude” roundtable at the 2017 Summit will feature Renewable Fuels Association CEO Bob Dinneen, Former U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof, Valero Vice President of Alternative Fuels Martin Parrish, and energy policy expert Jim Massie of Jim Massie & Partners.

The roundtable will focus on the potential impacts and outcomes of the new Congress and the Trump administration on important biofuel policy such as the Renewable Fuel Standard.

“It was encouraging to hear President-Elect Trump support the RFS so strongly during his campaign and we look forward to working with him to implement policies reflective of his position,” said Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw, who is moderating the roundtable.

“It will be interesting to see how the new Congress factors in, and our roundtable experts will have great insights on how both the executive and legislative branches will impact federal policy concerning biofuels in the coming years.”

The Summit is free to attend and open to the public.

Registration is required.

The last day to register is January 27, 2017.

The Summit will take place at the Meadows Conference Center at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
